PA School

Tutoring

Hi, my name is Penina and I'm a physician assistant. I graduated in August 2023, and have been working in inpatient and outpatient urology since then.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. In 2012 I graduated, Magna Cum Laude with a BA in science, with a focus on special education. From there I worked as a mainstream and special education teacher in elementary, middle and high school for 8 years. I taught classes, as well as modified curriculum to meet the needs of individual students. I also tutored in the evening and on weekends.

In 2014, after having my son, I decided I wanted to work in medicine. I went back to school to take all the necessary prerequisite classes and ended up applying to PA school and starting a 24 month program in August of 2021. During my clinical year, I was a peer educator and ran study sessions for didactic year students to prepare them for their exams.

All of this to say, I love education. I love individualizing material to help each student feel confident and succeed. Ultimately, medicine truly is education and I'm grateful to do what I love every single day.

Balancing PA school, while being a single mom, I have experienced the endless demands of PA school. I understand the stress of trying to balance it all. My many years in education have given me the tools to help you succeed throughout your entire PA school journey.

I look forward to working with you!

Penina’s reviews helped me immensely. After weeks of studying on my own for clinical medicine exams, I would attend her review sessions where she would help me tie everything together. I passed every exam, in great part due to her help.

Penina is a brilliant and kindhearted teacher and individual; she was able to help me through my didactic year in PA school, particularly in clinical medicine. Not only was she able to teach the material, but she was able to walk me through the underlying physiology as well as the pathology, allowing me to further understand, grasp, and retain the material.

Penina has helped me many times throughout my toughest years of PA school. She was extremely educated, knowledgeable, and thorough on every topic I could think of. She took the time to make sure I fully understood what concepts we were going over together, and she was always available any time I needed her. I truly believe she helped me survive PA school and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed!

Penina was so helpful during my didactic year! She made a lot of clinical concepts more clear and left me with a lot of great pearls to help me recall on my exam. She was encouraging and made me feel more confident in my ability to conquer PA school!

Penina was an incredible tutor throughout my PA school journey. Her depth of knowledge and clear, concise teaching style made complex subjects understandable and manageable. She was always available to clarify difficult topics and provide extra support. She made me and other students feel more confident and well-prepared for exams and clinical rotations. She was always willing to answer and breakdown questions over and over again, no matter how simple or complex they were. Penina’s dedication to us and passion for teaching truly set her apart.
